Seagate Project for a commercial marine dual guide pivotting arc
Conclusions

In conclusion, our project analized some aspects of the Seagate project, mainly from the point of view of the kinematics, and a proposal for a new guide.

At the end of the work we realized that the initial planning was totally irrealistic. This was due to many problems encountered during tasks and to some external events.

The main change in our project was due to the fact that the company didn't give us the original CAD models, so we had to revise our plans and to focus on modelling the structure by ourself. This task took us most of time, in such a way that short time was left for further improvements on the structure. We focused instead on the design of a simple bogie for the Seagate structure.

Moreover, the real tasks and time needed proved to be very different with respect to the initial project schedule. Assembly and part design proved to be closely related for totally new projects, also because of kinematics problems. FEM analysis proved to be fundamental while designing too. Tasks took much more time than expected, so the project failed to respect the July deadline, making the Gantt chart schedule times different compared to actual dates.
